Who should apply?

There are several types of people we are interested in hearing from but there is certainly no "one type" of person who should apply.

For trainees we typically like to recruit people who have a background in a career other than recruitment. We find that fresh graduates or school leavers do not have the foundation necessary to understand how businesses work having not really worked for one. People who do well in recruitment are typically very motivated to quickly increase their earning potential and are firm believers in the concept that what you put in is what you get out. They should want to work hard to increase their earnings and better themselves professionally, but must also have an aptitude for clearly and concisely getting to the root of a problem and being able to solve it confidently. If you are right for the job you will probably feel frustrated right now perhaps working in an industry where promotion depends on politics or chance and takes time - recruitment is a true meritocracy where new starters can double their earning potential very quickly. If you work in sales you might be looking for a more challenging role involving more complex "products" and services - First Point can certainly offer this.

We are also interested in hearing from experienced recruiters who are dissatisfied with their current role or company. We can offer experienced recruiters a number of advantages our competitors cannot. We do not restrict Consultants to working with companies within a certain geographic area or to contract or permanent vacancies. We do not insist on in-depth credit checking and we approve terms/contracts very quickly - in fact in most cases we let you take care of this yourself. We don't put you on call targets and we don't run our business like a boiler room. Yes, we require hard work, but we empower you rather than forcing you to conform. We put our clients and candidates before sales targets and we insist on the development of strong technical knowledge and a professional approach.
